NAFS and the Canadian Supplement
This presentation will cover how to correctly specify NAFS rated products for Part 9 buildings using the Canadian Supplement to NAFS, and the potential limitations of the Canadian Supplement when special conditions exist such as buildings located on hills and escarpments that may be subject to wind speed-up. The presentation will start with a brief discussion of important code changes that will occur when NBC 2023 Alberta Edition comes into effect on May 1 of 2024 (permit application date), involving the protection of openable windows and Tiered Energy Code adoption.
