ABECS Hands-On Balcony Waterproofing & Coating Applications Workshop
Alberta Building Envelope Council South is pleased to partner with Cascade Aqua-Tech, Sika and Taylor Construction to host a hands-on technical workshop focused on balcony waterproofing systems. This in-person session will take place at Cascade Aqua-Tech and will feature a technical presentation by Terry Bruce of Sika, followed by live, practical demonstrations with assistance from Taylor Construction.
Using mock-ups that represent wood frame and concrete balcony assemblies, attendees will gain practical insight into proper application techniques and best practices. The workshop will cover key details such as upturns, sealant cant beads, diverters, and aggregate broadcasting, along with guidance on tools, solvents, mixing techniques, coverage control, and safety requirements.This session is designed to provide contractors, applicators, and industry professionals with valuable, field-ready knowledge through live demonstrations and expert discussion.
